All-Region Band Auditions

This general information about the TMEA All-Region Band Audition process is for all Wind Ensemble members, as well as to qualified Symphonic Band members. Wind Ensemble members are required to participate, while participation by Symphonic Band members is strongly encouraged. More specific information will be sent out closer to the event date.

All-Region Auditions will take place on Saturday, November 4. Students will meet at the SBMS Band Hall at 6am for free juice & breakfast tacos. We will then travel to College Station High School and judging begins at 9:30am. Students are required to play their scales from memory (except percussion), and selections of music from both Etude 1 & 2, which are not from memory. Percussion students perform three etudes: one on snare drum, one on marimba, and another on timpani. Auditions will end around 2:30pm (if not earlier) and then we will go to Fuddruckers in College Station for food & games. We will arrive back at SBMS about 6:30pm.

This is the most individually-competitive event we participate in all year long, and students who are selected from the blind audition process are considered state-ranked within Texas middle schools! Those selected get to rehearse and perform with a notable music educator at Belton High School on Saturday, November 11.

If you have any questions about this performance, please contact a director.
