This message for Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, & Jazz Band only (not beginners):
One thing we forgot to include on the supplies list is black pants, socks, & shoes as part of our formal band uniform. Our band handbook states that these must be solid black, plain-front pants that are not jeans or cargo pants. Students should also wear solid black calf-length (not ankle) socks, as well as solid black closed-toed dress shoes. Gentlemen should have a solid black belt.
We apologize for not including this in your supplies list for this year, but will be sure to include it in next year’s list. Students will need these at the end of October for Jazz Band, or the beginning of November for Symphonic Band/Wind Ensemble, so you have some time.
Some performances are more casual in nature so we will wear jeans for these performances. These include the M100 Showcase, MS Band Night (8th graders), pep rallies, etc. Students and parents will be informed ahead of time which uniform (formal or casual) is required for the upcoming performance. Contact a director if you have any questions.
