On Friday, members of the South Belton Jazz Band competed in the TMEA All-Region Jazz Auditions at Bonham MS. We had a total of 5 students make the group with an additional 3 first alternates that are honorable mentions. Please join me in congratulating the following students:
- 7th grader Ashu G. placed 2nd chair out of 18 tenor saxophones, and placed in the concert All-Region Band earlier this year
- 8th grader Clayton O. placed 2nd chair out of 46 trumpets, and placed in the concert All-Region Band earlier this year
- 7th grader Autumn M. placed 3rd chair out of 31 trombones
- 7th grader Ethan S. placed 1st chair out of 9 vibraphones
- 8th grader Sam F. placed 2nd chair out of 16 drummers, and placed in the concert All-Region Band earlier this year
Honorable Mentions
- 7th grader Kason W. placed 3rd out of 37 alto saxophones, and serves as the 1st Alternate. He placed in the concert All-Region Band earlier this year.
- 8th grader Hailey L. placed 6th out of 46 trumpets, and serves as the 1st Alternate. She placed in the concert All-Region Band earlier this year.
- 8th grader John G. placed 2nd out of 4 jazz pianos, and serves as the 1st Alternate. He placed in the concert All-Region Band on Horn earlier this year.
