On Saturday, members of the South Belton Band competed in the TMEA All-Region Auditions in College Station. From 8th grade, 19 students and six 7th graders placed, for a total of 25 students earning spots in the honor group with an additional 6 alternates as honorable mentions. Ten of these students are 2-Year All-Region members. Please help me congratulate the following students:
From the flute section, Sara H. placed 11th out of 43 flutes and made 5th Chair in the Concert Band. Reagan V. placed 12th and made 6th Chair in the Concert Band. Cailyn M. placed 16th and serves as the 1st Alternate.
In the bassoon section, Gage C. placed 2nd out of 10 bassoons, earning 2nd Chair in the Symphonic Band. Gage is a 2-Year All-Region member. Nathan C. placed 4th, earning 2nd Chair in the Concert Band.
From the clarinet section, Amanda D. placed 14th out of 53 clarinets and made 4th Chair in the Concert Band. Amanda is a 2-Year All-Region member. Akina G. placed 16th, and earned 6th Chair in the Concert Band. Gaby M. placed 17th, earning the 7th Chair spot in the Concert Band. Josiah M. placed 20th, and made 10th Chair in the Concert Band. Lucas O. placed 23rd and serves as the 1st Alternate.
In the saxophone section, Kason W. placed 2nd out of 24 alto saxophones, which is the 2nd Chair spot in the Symphonic Band. Ashu G. placed 1st out of 5 tenor saxophones, which is 1st Chair in the Symphonic Band. Both Kason and Ashu are 2-Year All-Region members.
From the trumpet section, Aiden O. placed 2nd out of 53 trumpets, earning 2nd Chair in the Symphonic Band. Aiden is a 2-Year All-Region member. Liam B. placed 4th, which is the 4th Chair spot in the Symphonic Band. Colby F. placed 5th, earning 5th Chair in the Symphonic Band. Colby is also a 2-Year All-Region member.
From the horn section, Emily L. placed 1st out of 34 French horns, which is 1st Chair in the Symphonic Band. She is a 2-Year All-Region member. Josh R. placed 13th, earning the 7th Chair spot in the Concert Band.
In the trombone section, Autumn M. placed 3rd out of 38 trombones, earning 3rd Chair in the Symphonic Band. Thaddeus H. placed 5th, which is 5th Chair in the Symphonic Band. David S. placed 14th, earning 8th Chair in the Concert Band. Pablo U. placed 16th and serves as the 2nd Alternate.
In the euphonium section, Owen B. placed 4th out of 21 euphoniums, which is 2nd Chair in the Concert Band. Mallory L. placed 7th and serves as the 1st Alternate.
From the tuba section, Cole V. placed 3rd out of 24 tubas, earning the 3rd Chair spot in the Symphonic Band. Cole is a 2-Year All-Region member. McKenzie B. placed 5th, and earned 1st Chair in the Concert Band. Josh E. placed 6th, and earned 2nd Chair in the Concert Band. Ashton S. placed 11th and serves as the 2nd Alternate.
Lastly in the percussion section, Grayson N. placed 4th out of 48 percussionist, earning 4th Chair in the Symphonic Band. Nolan K. placed 7th, earning the 7th Chair spot in the Symphonic Band. Both Grayson and Nolan are 2-Year All-Region members. Sam B. placed 12th, and made 5th Chair in the Concert Band. Ethan S. placed 16th, serving as the 2nd Alternate.
