Greetings, and welcome to the new age of learning online! We are all embarking on a new way of learning outside our Band Hall, and we want to work together. We want to still support our students’ musical development, and we know they are probably missing their friends. Right now, these plans will be for the next 2 weeks, but we don’t know if this will be extended. It’s important that everyone stays up-to-date and because school will be closed until at least April 3, district band directors are collaborating on the best way to deliver instruction online, which will start this coming Monday, March 23.
In the SBMS Band, we will be utilizing our already established online resources, such as Google Classroom, Sightreading Factory, Charms emails, and Remind texting in order to communicate with both students and parents. For other classes, students will use Schoology like they normally did while on campus. Each course will be designed with activities to take about 25 minutes per course. Agendas for each class will be posted for students to access by 9:00am on Monday, March 23. Please email Mr. Pulley to confirm your receipt of this information.
If you do not have Internet access at home, please email Mr. Pulley so we can search for additional ways to deliver instruction to your student.
If your student is missing something from the Band Hall, such as their instrument, music binder, stick/mallets, etc., we will have set times that we will be open this Saturday morning (March 21). The best access is from the back Band Hall door on the side of the school behind the track. Please follow this exact schedule to the letter so that we may practice “social distancing” as no more than 5 students will be allowed in the Band Hall at any one time:

- 6th Grade Girls – 9:00-9:20am
- 6th Grade Boys – 9:20-9:40am
- 7th Grade Girls – 9:40-10:00am
- 7th Grade Boys – 10:00-10:20am
- 8th Grade Girls – 10:20-10:40am
- 8th Grade Boys – 10:40-11:00am
